New Delhi (ABC Live) Mr.Ajay Maken, Minister of State ( Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs & Sports has sanctioned Ex-Gratia Assistance to Mr.Desh Prem Azad, Former Cricket Coach.
Under the Scheme of National Welfare Fund for Sportspersons, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports provides lump sum financial assistance to outstanding sportspersons of the past, who are facing financial distress.
Sh. Desh Prem Azad, a former Cricket Coach, is living in indigent condition, for his medical treatment. Taking cognizance of his poor financial position, the Sports Minister has sanctioned this ex-gratia. Mr.Azad captained Punjab in Ranji trophy in 1964.
He had distinction of having coached and trained Mr.Kapil Dev, Chetan Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Ashok Malhotra & Yograj Singh.
