New Delhi (ABC Live) Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) organized a lecture here on "Health Effects of Wireless Communications" by Prof Kenneth R. Foster of University of Pennsylvania USA to create awareness on the subject.
In his talk, Prof. Foster described briefly the long history of concern in about possible health risks of radiofrequency energy, and reviewed recent evidence about possible health effects of wireless communications focusing on possible links between use of cell phones and brain cancer.
He emphasized that despite extensive research, funded by both industry and government, and numerous expert reviews by health agencies and other expert groups the conclusions have generally been reassuring. Professor Foster discussed the issue and how to address potential health and safety issues about wireless communications technologies.
